We are super excited to finally announce we will have two new riding instructors who will begin instruction in January, 2025.  Reese will wrap her lesson offerings at the end of December when she prepares to go to farrier school in January.  Reese will return to our lesson program upon her return after mid-March.

Introducing Dori & Anna

Anna

Dori began riding at age 8 after attending a Girl Scouts Horse Camp at Dimond H Ranch. She started out jumping on a pony named Waco. Waco taught his students to be decisive and hold on, as he had a signature bunny hop over fences. Dori soon began cleaning paddocks, stalls, and tacks in exchange for riding lessons. She showed Low Hunter and Equitation on a chestnut thoroughbred named Gable Sear.

While attending school in Washington, Dori received an education in Dressage riding and training. After a couple of years, Dori returned home to Anchorage. Since 2003, Dori has ridden off and on, occasionally leasing and catching lessons here and there, but lately enjoying casual backyard riding on horses of generous owners.

Dori has recently started teaching riding lessons to beginners. She enjoys passing on her experience and connecting children and adults to what may be their earliest or first horse experiences.

Anna is a born and raised Alaskan and brings with her a lifelong passion & experience with horses. She recently graduated from college with a degree in Behavioral health sciences & is currently working for Lululemon. Her foothold in the horse world began when she was a toddler. Both of her parents grew up with horses, and thus, the love was passed onward. Her first horse was a 7-year-old chestnut Morgan mare named Fancy Free. Fancy helped set the foundation for the rider Anna is today and lit the flame for her adoration of the Morgan breed. Fancy is now 19, and Anna owns two other Morgan mares. Her riding career has been founded on the Morgan Horse philosophy, that “they are the horse that can do any discipline,” and she has put that to the test. Her experiences include colt starting, trail riding, carting, barrel racing, and more. Her main foundations are in the fundamentals of dressage and Western disciplines. Anna’s passion is to assist horse owners in Alaska and riders in becoming confident and connected with the horses they ride and love.
